About The Position

Maintains a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, customers, and visitors by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. This role involves surveying the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting access points, and permitting entry. The officer is responsible for completing reports, preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities, and responding to intrusion and fire alarms, assessing activations, and notifying emergency response agencies. Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license or obtain one upon hire (for CTGR employees).
  • Must qualify for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance (for CTGR employees).
  • May require driving (for Portland employees).
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within six months of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain a DPSST certification within six months of employment and maintain the certification and/or licensure requirements for a security officer in the State of Oregon.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed the training requirements for an armed or unarmed private security officer, as required by law.
  • Must demonstrate minimum standards of moral fitness.
  • Not be required to register or be registered as a sex offender in any state.
  • Have no disqualifying criminal history or convictions.
  • Have no disqualifying history of mental illness.
  • Meet any other DPSST certification requirement.
  • DPSST applicants are subject to Federal Bureau of Investigation and Oregon State Police criminal history records checks.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to meet the Department’s physical standards.
  • Must demonstrate good moral fitness and ethical standards.
  • Knowledge of Native American culture is required.
  • Candidates for this position will be subject to criminal and character background checks and may be subject to fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

  • May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during Emergencies, or when the Tribal Emergency Operations Center is opened.

Responsibilities
