About The Position

Coordinate environmental review activities and independently perform environmental compliance work to support the Tribe's environmental protection and resource management goals. Ensure assigned projects comply with applicable tribal, federal, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Relevant environmental certification(s) or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience supporting or leading NEPA environmental review processes, including assessments, inspections, and permitting activities
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or training staff
  • Experience with grant-funded programs, environmental reporting, or regulatory compliance activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Five (5) years of experience in environmental compliance, regulatory programs, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental reviews, assessments, and permitting activities for assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, tribal, and TEPA requirements through inspections, monitoring, and documentation activities.
  • Prepare environmental reports, permit applications, mitigation measures, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate with tribal departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding assigned environmental projects.
  • Conduct environmental sampling, inspections, investigations, and monitoring activities.
  • Provide environmental guidance and technical assistance to internal stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyze, validate, and report environmental data in accordance with quality assurance standards.
  • Maintain accurate environmental records, compliance files, permits, and documentation.
  • Assist with grant reporting, program tracking, public outreach, and environmental training activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
