About The Position

The current vacancy is with the University of Hawaii, Manoa Campus. This role involves climbing and trimming as well as removing a variety of trees. Responsibilities include applying chemicals and performing minor tree surgery on diseased or injured trees. The position also requires operating medium and heavy trucks and other comparable mobile equipment, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B is required at the time of application.
One year of experience in the care and maintenance of grounds and landscaped areas, including the trimming, pruning, and caring of trees and shrubs, and some truck driving; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application.
Your possession of the required amount of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for the position. Overall paid or unpaid experience must be of such scope and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that you have the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Calculation of experience must be based on full-time, 40-hour work weeks. Part-time experience must be pro-rated.
If you have an out-of-state CDL, you must transfer it to a Hawaii-issued CDL by the time of appointment.
For positions requiring a CDL, the Federal Department of Transportation regulations require pre-employment testing for controlled substances.
