About The Position

Learns and assists to operate the Water Reclamation Plant in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all existing requirements and published operational procedures. This role involves learning to record instrumentation readings, review data, and take corrective actions. The position also includes learning to operate sludge de-watering equipment, perform routine cleaning of buildings, rinse tanks and flumes, and vacuum chlorine contact chambers. Additionally, the role requires learning to perform laboratory analysis, monitor equipment operational status, shift between automatic and manual operational modes, and perform checkout procedures and re-calibrations. The operator will also learn to make equipment adjustments, maintain plant operational and security status during weekends, holidays, and after normal working hours, and maintain daily records. There is also a requirement to learn and assist plant mechanics and perform preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must obtain a class C wastewater operator's certificate in accordance with Florida Statutes 403.101 and 468.540 552 and Regulation 61E1241, F.A.C. within two years of employment.
  • Proof of a State of Florida Class E operator’s license required.
  • Class “C” Wastewater License must be obtained by the end of the eighteen (18) months of employment.
