About The Position
New Haven Youth & Family Services is seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Social Worker (ASW) to join their clinical team. This role involves working with at-risk adolescent boys in a residential/non-public school setting, offering the chance to build therapeutic relationships and provide consistent clinical support. It's an ideal opportunity for an ASW aiming to gain clinical experience, receive dedicated supervision, and accumulate hours towards LCSW licensure while positively impacting young people's lives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required
- Current California ASW registration required
- Commitment to obtaining your LCSW
- Experience working with adolescent youth required
- Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and family systems
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive when working with challenging behaviors
- Valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy under supervision
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Build positive, therapeutic relationships with high school-aged boys
- Coordinate care with families and community providers
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization support
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development
