About The Position

The Treatment Director is responsible for providing overall direction and guidance for treatment programming and management of residential therapeutic interventions for children and youth at Hearts with Hope Foundation. Identifies services needed with in-depth trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT) for each youth. Supervises and coordinates programs and services according to the 5-Point Child Development Plan with holistic care in the areas of Emotional, Social, Spiritual, Physical and Educational services to meet the client’s service plan and child’s plan of service requirements. Performs risk of harm (ROH) assessments. Assures the continuity of care for clients, appropriate health referrals and providing necessary information and documentation for admission, discharge and/or transition to receiving units, facilities or agencies.

Requirements

  • In-depth trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Knowledge of contract, minimum standards, accreditation, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Ability to develop initial treatment plans (within 30 days of intake) and update treatment plans (every 90 days)
  • Ability to respond to ROH assessments within one hour (community) or 10 minutes (office)
  • Ability to immediately report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect
  • Ability to complete performance reviews for direct reports
  • Adherence to licensure requirements and regulations by Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas State Board of Examiners
  • Ability to schedule, monitor and supervise therapy services
  • Ability to schedule and monitor Behavior Support Specialist services
  • Ability to plan, arrange and monitor specific therapies
  • Ability to assist in staff training
  • Ability to conduct ongoing assessments of staff workload
  • Ability to complete Continued Stay Guidelines
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate staff development and training programs
  • Ability to attend meetings and training courses as required

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the review of potential new clients for program admission, reviews psychological assessments and treatment history files and provides input to Program Administrator and Program Manager.
  • Participates actively in agency quality assurance activities including performance and outcomes review, case record review, stakeholder satisfaction review, incident review, and improvement planning.
  • Has comprehension and knowledge of all regulatory requirements including contract, minimum standards, accreditation, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) with target implementation goal of 100% compliance.
  • Attends monthly staffing, treatment team meetings, reviews, and may facilitate those meetings if the designated team member is out.
  • Develops initial treatment plans (within 30 days of intake) and updates treatment plans (every 90 days) to include age-appropriate clinical interventions, objectives and goals that are observable and measurable.
  • Reviews and approves any service plans completed by Treatment Coordinator.
  • Reviews and approves admission assessments and preliminary service plans by Case Manager.
  • Provides support and crisis management services as needed.
  • Responds to all ROH assessments within one hour of receiving the call if in the community and 10 minutes of receiving the call if at the office.
  • Discusses treatment recommendation at the end of every ROH Assessment.
  • Immediately reports any suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect to immediate supervisor and the Child Abuse Hotline.
  • Complete performance reviews for direct reports and approve all the reviews from your department.
  • Reports serious incidents as well as significant and unusual incidents per agency policy and reports to agency management and DFPS caseworker, as appropriate.
  • Adheres to licensure requirements and regulations as set forth by the Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas State Board of Examiners.
  • Schedule, monitor and supervise therapy services provided by behavioral health providers and ensure required documentation is provided.
  • Schedule and monitor Behavior Support Specialist services provided by third party contractors to ensure the required documentation and care is provided.
  • Plan, arrange and monitor specific therapies required to implement service plan and plan of service requirements.
  • Assist in staff training to ensure workforce development and implementation of the treatment model.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of certain staff’s workload
  • Complete Continued Stay Guidelines to justify that youth meet criteria to remain in placement.
  • Makes recommendations for program improvement.
  • Coordinates and facilitates staff development and training programs to provide staff with information, tools and knowledge to help them effectively implement service plan requirements, i.e., behavioral tools, diagnosis, coping skills, and contract requirements. etc.
  • Attends meetings and training courses as required.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
