About The Position

The Treatment Director ensures appropriate programming and curriculum for each program track within the assigned region. They collaborate and strategize with the Executive Team to develop standardized processes and systems while monitoring their effectiveness throughout the organization. The Treatment Director must ensure that staff are professionally trained to perform their duties. The Treatment Director directly manages Program Managers and oversees the entire clinical team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3 years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in the state of Minnesota
  • Strong understanding of integrated mental health services within a co-occurring treatment model
  • Clearance of a MN Department of Human Services (DHS) background study
  • At least one year of work experience in direct service to an individual with substance use disorder or one year of work experience in the management or administration of direct service to an individual with substance use disorder
  • Knowledge of Minnesota Statute 245G, including sections 626.557 and 626.5572, and chapters 245A and 260E
  • Exceptional people management with proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team
  • Skilled in working in corrections and working with justice involved clients
  • Ability to work with the executive team to continually develop, manage, refine, perfect, and grow the organization
  • Demonstrates maturity, patience, composure, and professionalism
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and crisis management capabilities
  • Knowledge of all Partners Behavioral Healthcare processes related to the 12 Core Functions
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including active listening
  • Competence in policy development and communication across all organizational levels
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and behavioral health standards
  • Understanding of documentation standards and ability to enforce compliance
  • Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of 245G requirements and implications
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and industry-specific policies

  • When also acting as LADC Supervisor: Meet the qualification requirements of a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor Qualifications
  • When also acting as LADC Supervisor: Have three or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder
  • When also acting as LADC Supervisor: Know and understand the implications of Minnesota Statute 245G, including sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapter 260E

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring 245G Clinical Compliance and Policy
  • Programming & Curriculum development and oversight
  • Facilitating the training and development of staff
  • Ensuring Electronic Health Record (EHR) is used properly
  • Auditing documentation and compliance
  • Awareness of current and future changes in the Behavioral Health environment
  • Interfacing with partners such as: Corrections, Human Services, Probation and Parole
  • Delivery of and proper documentation of treatment services including the Initial Service Plan, Comprehensive Assessment, Individual Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, Summary at Termination of Services, and the maintenance of client records
  • Conducting annual employee performance reviews and administering coaching or corrective action as needed
  • Providing leadership and supervision to the treatment team
  • Overseeing staffing levels to ensure appropriate coverage
  • Confirming at least 25% of a counselor's scheduled work hours be allocated to indirect services
  • Maintaining a weekly counselor schedule list to ensure group coverage
  • Ensuring ongoing communication with client referral sources, probation, social service agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Participating in corporate compliance initiatives
  • Acting as Program Manager Designee in Program Manager’s absence
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships
  • Promoting and ensuring staff participate in annual trauma-informed and client-centered care training
  • Assisting in curriculum development and staying current on substance use disorder research, best practices, and emerging trends
  • Monitoring and reporting on client outcomes
  • Collaborating with the Mental Health Director to deliver integrated Substance User Disorder and Mental Health Services
  • Developing and training the substance use disorder staff to identify and appropriately refer clients to Mental Health and MAT programming
  • Performing other duties as assigned
