About The Position

This position is for a Treatment Counselor/Qualified Professional who will join a team focused on helping individuals overcome drug or alcohol dependency. The role offers continuous adventure, novelty, learning, personal growth, team support, and camaraderie. The position involves facilitating groups, individual sessions, and assessments, documenting sessions and activities, and participating in team collaboration with various justice and program teams.

Requirements

  • A member of one of the following professional disciplines: certified, credentialed or licensed alcohol and drug counselor, licensed professional counselor, licensed nurse, licensed physician, psychologist, counselor holding a master's degree in a related field from an approved college or university, licensed, licensed clinical or licensed master's social worker, a person holding a bachelor's degree in a related field, or a person holding an associate degree in chemical dependency counseling who has applied for the Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC), pending successful completion of the next testing cycle.
  • 1,040 hours of supervised experience providing substance abuse treatment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Has a valid Idaho Driver's License and current vehicle insurance.
  • Any certificates or licenses as required in Education.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation's treatment and programming.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, members, families, community agencies and professionals.
  • Ability to perform crisis intervention strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and conflict.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in any given situation.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to supervise staff, delegate responsibility and provide leadership and training.
  • Ability to be well organized, flexible, and self disciplined.
  • Knowledge and experience in treatment including client evaluation, counseling techniques, relapse prevention, case management, and family therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Assists clients to identify and progress towards their chosen goals.
  • Advocates for clients in all areas of treatment and helps them apply for and receive services.
  • Provides prompt intervention in the event of a crisis both to stop the crisis and to notify, when indicated, persons and agencies necessary for the resolution of the situation.
  • Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed.
  • Enforces the policies and procedures of the Drug Court Treatment Services.
  • Facilitates groups, individual, couple/family sessions.
  • Participates in documentation of groups, individual, couple and family sessions.
  • Participates in group preparation and debrief.
  • Participates in special and regular case staffing.
  • Participates in Program Development and "What Works" meetings and advanced program training.
  • Participates in Consultation Meetings.
  • Counsels family members to assist family in dealing with and providing support for client.
