The Treatment Coordinator discusses doctor-proposed treatment plans and associated costs with general dentistry patients and/or legal guardians. They inform patients of their fiscal responsibilities, assist with third-party billing systems like CareCredit, and review dental records for proper coding using CDT codes. This role involves close collaboration with administrative and clinical staff. Key functions include incorporating doctor-prescribed treatment plans with insurance and financing, communicating effectively and professionally with patients and staff, informing patients about their insurance coverage responsibilities, and assisting with third-party billing. The coordinator reviews dental records for proper coding, discusses treatment plans with the Doctor or Dental Office Manager, posts and reviews general dentistry payments and procedures, and balances day sheets, including closing the office at least one night per week. They work with staff to ensure firm financial arrangements are made, monitor patient accounts, conduct general dentistry patient recall, and treat all individuals with respect. The role also requires proficiency in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and operating computer software like Eaglesoft and Microsoft Office Suite. Preparing and delivering reports on time, assisting with same-day treatment and scheduling follow-ups, creating and following up on Medicaid pre-authorizations, preparing daily financial over-the-counter reports, and documenting financial arrangements are also part of the job. The coordinator communicates patient concerns to management and complies with all relevant policies and regulations (Dental Depot, OSHA, HIPAA). The position may require relocation to other clinics as needed.
