About The Position

This position can be filled as an Associate Financial Analyst or Financial Analyst based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This position will be located at our Office in Stevens Point, WI in a hybrid work model and is not a fully remote opportunity. For this position, Sentry does not offer employment to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • 0-2+ years of related work experience
  • Work with a high level of independence and exercise sound decision making
  • Proven ability to build relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines with a high degree of personal initiative and self-motivation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills or willingness to learn advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn investments, banking, and insurance

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, or ability to sit for CPA exam desirable
  • Internship experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Daily banking, cash positioning, wire transfers, and bank reconciliations
  • Completing the accounting, processing, and reconciliations for various integrated systems for investments and banking
  • Validating daily trading wires and pricing processes
  • Reconciling and balancing our daily separate accounts trading activity
  • Preparing reports and analysis and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders related to our investments and treasury operations
  • Providing primary support to internal and external auditors for several key annual controls and financial audits
  • Developing strong relationships with our internal stakeholders and collaborates with them on special projects with financial systems, forecasting, investments, 401k, and life
  • Recommending, implementing, and testing enhancements to automate processes and improve data quality, including Sentry’s migration to its new general ledger
  • Assisting with support, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancement of our Treasury systems for investment accounting banking, and payments
