About The Position

MSC Cruises, the world’s third largest cruise line brand, is expanding its Accounting team in the USA. Reporting to the Sr Manager for Accounting and Financial Operations, the Treasury Reconciliation Specialist performs the credit card settlement reconciliation process, ensuring payment processor activity, bank deposits, reservation system transactions, and the ERP general ledger are accurately reconciled. Seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and accountability. Ensuring that every financial entry tells a true story of performance and progress, and curious about how numbers translate into operational insights and are eager to grow within the exciting world of travel and cruising. This is a full time, permanent position requiring 4 days / week onsite in our Fort Lauderdale office, 1 day / week work from home.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in treasury, cash management, payment reconciliation, or accounting, preferably within a large corporate or multi-entity environment.
  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration or Accounting
  • Fluent English (oral and written skills)
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of organization through various forms
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Performs other job-related functions as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SAP (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliations of credit card, electronic payment, bank, and general ledger transactions to ensure the completeness and accuracy of cash settlements.
  • Review payment processor (acquirer), bank, reservation system, and ERP data to identify, research, and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and outstanding items.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to payment settlements, processing fees, chargebacks, refunds, and other treasury transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor outstanding reconciliation items and investigate transactions that do not settle within expected processing timeframes, ensuring timely resolution and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze payment activity to identify timing differences, missing settlements, duplicate transactions, chargebacks, reversals, processing errors, and other reconciling items.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules, aging reports, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and established service levels.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Accounting, Revenue Accounting, IT, banks, and external payment processors to resolve settlement issues and improve reconciliation processes.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities by completing reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of cash and payment-related balances.
  • Support special projects and other finance and accounting initiatives as assigned.
