About The Position

Provides analytical, operational and/or project support to one or more functional areas of Treasury Operations. This position works in one of the following areas of Treasury Operations: Fixed Income Operations, Derivatives Operations, Foreign Exchange Operations, Treasury Administration and Portfolio Analytics.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a relevant field, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a relevant field.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet, word processing and email software.
  • Strong & proven analytical skills.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to execute deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Comfortable and proven ability with communicating verbally and in writing with various levels of personnel.
  • Detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Proven ability to be part of a working project and interject the necessary expertise to help guide results.

Responsibilities

  • Completes medium complexity data entry and trade entry updates (documented/procedures) over a range of disciplines.
  • Completes medium level of analysis and judgment based work over a range of disciplines within the department.
  • Completes medium complexity documentation for system input with quality control and validation and moderate customer service requests.
  • Obtains and reviews documentation prior to submitting to management the details necessary for departmental audits.
  • May take part in interdepartmental projects.
  • Responds to more complex requests involving research in multiple systems; completes adjustments and reconciliation.
  • Works with Senior Management to define and outline escalation criteria.
  • Utilizes internal procedures across the department without collaboration to complete tasks.
  • Validates and reconciles various trade-related details to include validating, reporting, and customer confirmations.
  • Assists with cross-training and ensures basic understanding of tasks are correctly outlined.
  • Understands and adheres to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Identifies risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promotes an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintains M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Completes other related duties as assigned.
