American Federal Banker is actively seeking a self-motivated and relational team player to join our Home Office Sales and Marketing department. This full-time benefited position is an integral part of the Sales team and will focus on the sales and service of the Treasury Management business line.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field/experience
  • 5+ years of treasury management, commercial banking, or related experience
  • Proven success in sales, business development, and portfolio growth
  • Strong understanding of treasury products, payments systems, and liquidity solutions
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational business data
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship management skills
  • Exhibit strong collaboration skills and work within a team environment
  • Experience working in a continuously changing environment
  • Strong customer orientation

Responsibilities

  • Develops comprehensive knowledge of both customers and potential customers to help identify problems and opportunities to develop solutions and lead customers to select the best Treasury Management Solution for their business.
  • Work with bankers to develop customer prospect lists and make joint calls.
  • Manages personal relationships with key customers.
  • Document, track, and report results of ongoing sales efforts including information on all existing customers and new sales prospects.
  • Conducts professional individual and group trainings to new and/or existing customers which demonstrate the American Federal Brand Promise, focusing on the Treasury Management Sales Officer’s comprehensive understanding of the industry, and the development of comprehensive solutions.
  • Schedule proactive contacts with key customers to recognize the value of personal relationships, assess needs through profiling, schedule appointments, conduct follow-up activities, track contacts, and provide referrals.
  • Listen to customer inquiries, requests, and problems, taking ownership to resolve issues in a timely manner in accordance with customer expectations and in compliance with operational and compliance procedures.
  • Provide expert advice in treasury and cash management strategies
  • Develop solutions across a comprehensive treasury offering, including: Liquidity and cash flow management, Payables and receivables optimization, Fraud prevention and risk mitigation, Digital and payment solutions
  • Analyze client financial operations and recommend aligned treasury structures
  • Educate clients on the benefits, risks, and operational impacts of treasury products
  • Support onboarding and implementation of treasury services
  • Conduct regular client reviews to assess performance and identify opportunities
  • Identify and target commercial clients, focusing on high-value businesses
  • Generates referrals to all of the bank’s lines of business.
  • Build and execute a structured prospecting and calling program
  • Partner with Commercial, Ag, and Business Bankers to generate new opportunities
  • Develop centers of influence, including CPAs, attorneys, and consultants
  • Lead presentations, client calls, and treasury solution proposals
  • Promotes Treasury Management services and increases brand awareness in the markets we serve.
  • Build, grow, and manage a treasury portfolio
  • Support fee income and deposit growth targets
  • Optimize pricing and profitability standards of treasury services
  • Monitor usage trends and expand product penetration within client base
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with business clients
  • Understand client operations, industry, and financial structure
  • Deliver tailored treasury solutions aligned with company goals
  • Maintain consistent contact and proactive service approach
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and client experience
  • Partner with: Sales Offices, Credit, Operations
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new Treasury Management services that cost effectively help our clients meet their financial goals
  • Provides expert advice to bankers on treasury solutions and sales strategies
  • Participate in joint sales calls and strategy sessions
  • Support internal referral development and cross-sell initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements
  • Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures, and treasury controls
  • Monitor fraud risks and promote best practices in client security
  • Protect confidentiality of client and bank information
  • Operate in alignment with organizational ethics and standards
  • Support of routine customer communication and marketing efforts
  • Participation in sales meetings, planning, training, sales tracking processes and marketing campaigns
  • Utilization of the American Federal preferred way of selling
  • Delivery of a consistent, positive client experience balanced with managing customer expectations.
  • Maintenance of the confidentiality and security of bank and customer information, bank proprietary information and bank trade secrets
  • Adherence to established bank policies and procedures and applicable governmental regulatory laws and regulations.
