The Treasury Internship is a rotational opportunity for motivated students to get exposure to the different aspects of the Treasury department at Valero. This on-going internship opportunity provides a six-month assignment in each of the following areas within the department. This is an onsite and in-person internship located in San Antonio, TX and is intended to be an 18-month assignment, pending business and performance needs. Credit Assists with reconciling accounts, early drafts, preparing exposure reports. Assists with customer financial analysis, ratios and metrics. Assists with pulling and analyzing various credit reports. Cash Management Assists with bank administration, account verifications, budgeting, compliance and reporting. Assists with outgoing payment processing, daily reconciliation and recording cash entries to SAP. Assists with the recording of cash receipts in SAP. Finance & Investments Conducts cash forecasting, and investment and foreign exchange analysis Assists with debt administration, compliance and reporting for the company Assists with analysis and reporting of investments in Valero’s financial benefit plans This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Graduation date between May 2028 to December 2028
  • Successful completion of Accounting I and Accounting II coursework, required
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer required.
  • Ability to work 20+ hours during the spring and fall semesters required.
  • Able and willing to work in-person at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio during the internship required.
  • Overall GPA and Major - Expected Graduation Date

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work in person at the Valero Headquarters office a few hours each day between the hours of 7:30am - 5:00pm each day of the work week (Monday - Friday), preferred.
