About The Position

Westat has an immediate opening for a Treasury Assistant in its Accounting Department, reporting to the Treasury Cash Management Analyst. The position manages and supports transaction processing and recording, as well as corporate asset reporting, and coordinates closely with internal departments to support financial operations. This is a full-time role with a hybrid work arrangement at Westat’s corporate headquarters in Bethesda, with onsite work three days per week.

Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, filters, and sorts, to analyze large data sets.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of accounting principles and cash management.
Experience with financial reporting systems, including Deltek Costpoint.
Demonstrated communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with teams, managers, and/or clients.
Strong organization and time-management skills.
Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Process and reconcile daily bank transactions.
Monitor and report on treasury activities.
Record transactions to support preparation of financial statements.
Prepare and maintain accurate transaction records.
Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
Monitor the department’s central inbox, research inquiries, and escalate issues as needed.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
