About The Position

The Treasury Analyst is responsible for managing daily cash operations, liquidity forecasting, banking relationships, debt administration, and treasury-related reporting. This role supports working capital optimization across numerous operating yards, ensuring armored carrier and internal replenishment of cash at retail scrap purchasing facilities and ATMs. The Treasury Analyst records daily cash transactions while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business administration or related field.
  • 2+ years of treasury, finance, accounting or cash management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and analyze financial data.
  • Experience in a multi-location corporate environment with multiple banking relationships.
  • Ability to understand large sets of data, extracting it from various systems, analyzing it and presenting findings.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, with a mentality that no job is too big or too small if it benefits the Company and team.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to internal and third-party systems such as ERPs, operational systems, banking portals and data warehouses.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

Responsibilities

  • Track and manage daily cash positions and liquidity across unrelated financial institutions, multiple bank accounts, entities, and states.
  • Ensure sufficient liquidity is available to fund daily scrap purchases, freight costs, payroll, and vendor payments.
  • Ensure all cash transactions are timely recorded to the ERP and reconciled against expectations, including external transactions and intercompany transactions.
  • Analyze cash inflows and outflows and identify trends and patterns through data analysis for use in rolling cash flow models and forecasts.
  • Coordinate with yard managers and regional operations personnel regarding banking and cash requirements.
  • Serve as primary point-of-contact for treasury and debt banking partners.
  • Ensure retail scrap purchasing locations have adequate, but not excessive, cash and ATM availability for local scrap purchases, understanding denominations required by location and coordinating and scheduling with bank vaults and armored carrier services.
  • Maintain treasury management systems and online banking platforms.
  • Complete ACH and wire transmissions using dual control in conjunction with accounts payable personnel.
  • Complete remote desktop deposit processing and reporting.
  • Maintain administration of credit facility, term loans, equipment loans and other financing arrangements.
  • Maintain covenant reporting calendar and facilitate timely covenant reporting with lending partners.
  • Coordinate annual bank examinations and equipment, real estate, inventory and other appraisals.
  • Prepare daily cash and liquidity reporting.
  • Assist in the development, preparation and maintenance of short and long-term cash forecasts, rolling cash flow models and annual budgets.
  • Analyze actual financial results against budgeted and forecasted figures, identifying, and explaining key variances.
  • Partner with operations, accounting, and procurement teams to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Analyze long-term and short term cash sources and uses to provide recommendations for cash movements between banks, institutions and accounts.
  • Serve internal partners through preparation of treasury reports, presentations, and dashboards.
  • Provide daily cash receipts reporting to commercial and receivables personnel.
  • Communicate with third parties regarding bank information while adhering to appropriate separation of responsibilities controls.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into variances, trends, and potential risks or opportunities through clear and concise reports, highlighting KPIs relevant to treasury operations, offering key findings and actionable insights.
  • Assist with insurance renewals and treasury-related risk assessments.
  • Assist with supplier, vendor and customer insurance reporting, including monitoring for expirations and communicating with vendors and customers as necessary.
  • Support commodity-related risk management and hedging policies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, tools, and best practices in banking, treasury management, financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company treasury policies and internal controls.
  • Support fraud prevention initiatives including positive pay, ACH controls, and account monitoring.
  • Identify process improvements and implement streamlined methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy and internal control over treasury services.
  • Create and implement detective controls, monitoring controls and exception reporting using proprietary systems, third party systems, worksheets, data warehouses and other systems.
