PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibility of the machine(s) to ensure that quality products are achieved at a consistent rate of speed in accordance with machine standards and ensure all safety procedures are followed. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Setsup machine in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program,maintainthe procedureswith regard toproper set up unless the training is changed and properly recordedwith regard toprocedure Followsall checklist procedures fully Keepsall parts in their proper place and recommend replacement or repair of worn parts byfilling out the designated form Observes safety procedures at all times Operatestray machines as directedto meet production requirements Responsiblefor all equipment,tools assigned,andnotify thesupervisorof any additionaltools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Followsall instructions issued on the work jacket andadvisethesupervisorof any incorrect or non-recorded information that is necessary forproper set-up and operation Adjuststo and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Keepsall necessary supplies available to the operator to ensure an efficient operation Responsiblefor the quality of the product, packaging, labeling, and stocking Responsible for the quality of product manufactured concerning correct viscosity, color, shading, contrast, straining, and ink used Seesthat pallet loads are accurately counted, tagged, andentered tothe production report Followsthe stacking arrangement, number of layers,and height requirement for each case size from the Pallet Stacking Manual Once a pallet is full,callsthe stock puller on the paging system to move the pallet When the pallet is moved, placesanew pallet down by the machine Calculatesscrap rate to assure job stays within allowable limits Communicates well with other team members Wearsappropriate PPEfor the task and the area. Welcomes updates and improvements to processes and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Performs work in a manner that keeps down time to a minimum Mains a clean work environmentin accordance withFood Safety and 5S systems Followsall safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness andidentifyunsafe behaviors and conditions May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments A Tray Operator-Level 2should be able to do set-ups without help and shouldbe runningthe machine at or near the 110% efficiency level.

Requirements

  • Experience operating a tray machine, preferably in a folding carton environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to utilize software.
  • Mechanical ability and skills.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc.
  • Ability to write legibly in English.
  • Ability to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Tray Operator-Level 2 should be able to do set-ups without help.
  • Tray Operator-Level 2 should be running the machine at or near the 110% efficiency level.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tray machines to meet production requirements.
  • Ensure quality products are achieved at a consistent rate of speed in accordance with machine standards.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
  • Set up machine in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program.
  • Follow all checklist procedures.
  • Keep all parts in their proper place and recommend replacement or repair of worn parts.
  • Observe safety procedures at all times.
  • Be responsible for all assigned equipment and tools.
  • Notify the supervisor of any additional tools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.
  • Follow all instructions issued on the work jacket.
  • Advise the supervisor of any incorrect or non-recorded information necessary for proper set-up and operation.
  • Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.
  • Keep all necessary supplies available to the operator to ensure an efficient operation.
  • Be responsible for the quality of the product, packaging, labeling, and stocking.
  • Be responsible for the quality of product manufactured concerning correct viscosity, color, shading, contrast, straining, and ink used.
  • Ensure pallet loads are accurately counted, tagged, and entered to the production report.
  • Follow the stacking arrangement, number of layers, and height requirement for each case size from the Pallet Stacking Manual.
  • Call the stock puller on the paging system to move the pallet when it is full.
  • Place a new pallet down by the machine when the current pallet is moved.
  • Calculate scrap rate to assure job stays within allowable limits.
  • Communicate well with other team members.
  • Wear appropriate PPE for the task and the area.
  • Perform work in a manner that keeps down time to a minimum.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems.
  • Follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines.
  • Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments.
