About The Position

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center offering sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic care. The Tray Delivery Supervisor, reporting to the Manager of Dietary Patient Services, will supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of tray passing staff. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely distribution of menus, feeding patients, and collecting dirty trays. The position also involves conducting quality improvement audits and patient visits.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 - 2 years in a Tray Passing and/or Food Service role.
• Strong communication (both oral and written) skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read well and write legibly.
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of 120 Hour Dietary Managers course.
• 1 - 2 years Supervisory or management experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and coordinates the activities of tray passing staff.
• Distributes menus, assists with feeding patients, and collects dirty trays for ware washing in a timely fashion.
• Performs quality improvement audits and patient visits.
• Monitors and tracks patient satisfaction.
• Performs audits to measure menu return, temperatures, and accuracy.
• Responsible for the scheduling of tray passing staff to ensure adequate staffing for each zone in accordance with budgeted Full Time Equivalents (FTE) and with minimal use of overtime.
• Provides training of new tray passing personnel.
• Completes evaluations for tray passing staff.
• Monitors all infection control procedures by tray passing personnel.
• Monitors proper scripting techniques and double identification of patient used by tray passing personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
