About The Position

The purpose of this position is to receive trays from the tray washer/disinfector machine and transfer them onto clean hatcher buggies. This role involves meeting production requirements by efficiently stacking cleaned trays, inspecting them for cleanliness, and using pressure hoses to wash down carts if necessary. The Tray Catcher is also responsible for cleaning and disinfecting the tray room at the end of each shift. Additionally, the position requires active participation as a team member, fostering cohesiveness, and supporting team goals and policies. The role holder must be familiar with Simmons' operating systems and understand their impact on quality, security, and the overall office environment, communicating any concerns or improvement ideas. Requirements

Must be able to work in temperature extremes.
Must be on feet for the entire shift.
Must be able to lift and carry 10-12 pound empty trays out of a chest level exit of a tray washer, and place them on a cart from floor to above shoulder level.
Must be able to push/pull wheeled carts full of clean trays weighing up to 200 pounds about 50 feet in distance.
Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Must have the ability to make good decisions.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others and leadership team.

Nice To Haves

Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.
High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Receive trays from the tray washer/disinfector machine and transfer them onto clean hatcher buggies.
Meet production requirements by stacking several cleaned trays per minute.
Inspect trays for cleanliness as they exit the washer machine and stack them properly.
Use hand held pressure hoses to wash down wheeled carts that carry trays after entering the washer machine if they come out still dirty.
Clean and disinfect the tray room at the end of each shift.
Participate as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies.
Attend appropriate team meetings.
Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and bring them to the attention of the team leader, working with the team to resolve issues.
Be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity and the position's role in supporting these systems.
Communicate concerns and improvement ideas regarding operating systems.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
