We are seeking a self-motivated and reliable Water/ Wastewater Operations Technician to support multiple sites across the region. This position requires approximately 90% travel, supporting plant operations, startups, troubleshooting, and coverage needs. The ideal candidate is adaptable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in a variety of plant environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience (operations, maintenance, or production)
  • Ability to work independently at remote sites with minimal supervision
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 90% of the time
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (2/2/3 or 7-on/7-off schedules)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment operations
  • State wastewater operator certification (Georgia or ability to obtain)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Conduct water sample testing to monitor plant performance and optimize operations
  • Adjust treatment processes (TSS, pH, turbidity, chemical feed rates) to meet system requirements
  • Maintain accurate logs and operational records
  • Diagnose and repair pumps, motors, drives, valves, and related equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
  • Calibrate mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, chemical handling, and emergency response
  • Perform routine safety checks and ensure compliance with site and company standards
  • Communicate issues, performance concerns, and updates clearly to operations leadership and customers
  • Use digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Safety Culture, and other company systems) to document operational data, inspections, and performance metrics
