About The Position

Sunrun is seeking an experienced Certified Electrician to help launch their brand-new St. Louis branch. This role involves spending the initial months gaining hands-on leadership experience with the established Chicago team before permanently leading installation crews out of the new St. Louis branch. The company invests in employee skills and career development through their Power+ program, offering cross-training in solar, battery, and service operations for long-term job security. This position offers a unique travel and perks package during the pre-launch phase, covering all travel overhead, providing a company vehicle, paid travel time, and company-paid lodging and meal allowances.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Journeyman License, Electrician Certification, or equivalent per state/local requirements (e.g., Wireman License).
  • Proven background in electrical installation, repair, and replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
  • Hands-on experience with wiring systems up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC; deep working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (ability to pass a driving background check).
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and providing a positive experience for homeowners on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of electrical systems interconnecting residential solar arrays and battery storage systems to the power grid.
  • Ensure all electrical work performed meets high standards of workmanship and complies strictly with current NEC, local codes, engineering plans, and safety standards.
  • Safely plan, execute, and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU) and complex solar battery installations.
  • Diagnose system issues, troubleshoot electrical problems, and carry out necessary repairs or upgrades to support solar equipment.
  • Work directly with local inspectors to satisfy local jurisdiction requirements and collaborate with homeowners and branch teams to ensure smooth project completion.
