About The Position

SLS Consultants is a growing real estate development and construction consulting firm working in data centers, advanced manufacturing, life science, and healthcare. The Traveling Safety Manager supports the delivery of mission-critical data center construction projects by promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. The role partners with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to identify risks proactively and maintain high jobsite safety standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of EHS experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, contractor safety management, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Experience conducting site audits, inspections, and safety training.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or industrial construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead project safety programs and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and site-specific safety plans.
• Facilitate safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training programs.
• Track safety metrics, inspections, observations, and corrective actions.
• Support high-risk activities including electrical work, commissioning, crane operations, fall protection, confined space entry, and LOTO.
• Partner with project teams and clients to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement.
