About The Position
A Traveling Safety Manager position is available at Garney Construction. The role is responsible for ensuring that safety is the number one priority on water and sewer pipeline projects. The position involves overseeing project safety operations for a large data center project in Louisiana, reviewing and implementing safety regulations and standards, conducting safety training, performing daily safety inspections, and investigating accidents and incidents.
Requirements
- Degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a safety-related degree preferred
- OSHA 30 Certification in Construction
- Must have or be able to obtain CHST within 6 months of employment
- OSHA 500 required
- STS-C required
- Ability to travel and/or temporarily relocate per project needs

- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Responsibilities
- Overseeing project safety operations for a large data center project in Louisiana
- Review, implement, and assist with safety regulations and standards for project management and field personnel
- Conduct safety training for job site personnel
- Conduct daily safety inspections to identify, document, and correct safety hazards
- Conduct accident and incident investigations
