About The Position

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Traveling Quality Inspector based out of Dubuque, IA. This part-time, as-needed position is scheduled for 1st shift, with typical hours between 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Regional travel is required with overnight travel as-needed. The Traveling Quality Inspector is a vital part of the first line of defense to keep the assembly process running smoothly. Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed with variable lengths of time and distances.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed with variable lengths of time and distances.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools such as gaging, drills, taps, grinders and/or sanders to repair and/or clean parts and/or sub-assemblies
  • Must be able to read basic blueprints to determine tolerance of parts and/or sub-assemblies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tools, practices, and industry quality standards
  • Demonstrated expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Understanding of database principles and knowledge of MS Access
  • Basic knowledge of materials and production processes
  • Basic knowledge of quality control methods
  • High School Diploma Required

Responsibilities

  • Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria
  • Performs audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual techniques to determine conformance to specifications and fitness for use
  • Contains non-conforming parts and/or sub-assembles
  • Rectifies non-conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as directed by Team Leader
  • Uses methods such as de-rusting, grinding, drilling, tapping, assembly and/or disassembly to rectify non-conforming material
  • Determines the tools and equipment needed to do the job
  • Grinds, sands, cleans and oils parts and/or sub-assemblies by using hand tools or equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
