Traveling Project Manager
About The Position
The Traveling Project Manager is responsible for leading industrial mechanical construction projects across multiple states, from planning and preconstruction through final completion. This role manages project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client relationships while coordinating with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and leadership. Our traveling Project Managers have the opportunity to work on large-scale, technically advanced projects including data centers, semiconductor facilities, advanced manufacturing, industrial facilities, and other mission-critical environments. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys travel, complex projects, and the opportunity to build their career across multiple markets.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in industrial mechanical construction.
- Experience managing large-scale or complex mechanical projects preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Strong understanding of project budgets, cost control, scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Experience with Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work on projects across multiple states.
Nice To Haves
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead industrial mechanical projects from planning through completion.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, manpower, and resources.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field leadership.
- Monitor project progress, costs, productivity, quality, and schedule.
- Manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittments, and project documentation.
- Identify project risks and develop proactive solutions.
- Ensure projects meet company, client, safety, and quality expectations.
- Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Conduct project closeout and lessons-learned reviews.
