Traveling Program Facilitator
About The Position
As a part-time Traveling Program Facilitator, you facilitate an exceptional experience for volunteers at events across the country while advancing FMSC’s mission of feeding children who are hungry in body and spirit. The role is based out of the Richardson, Texas location, with frequent off-site work. Facilitators are scheduled for 2–4 events per month, and Thursday-through-Monday availability is most frequently needed because events often encompass weekends. The position combines volunteer engagement, public speaking, event coordination, and warehouse work. Facilitators help packing sessions run smoothly, track meal production, and lead a Christian prayer over packed meals, inviting volunteers to participate if they wish. The role involves energetic, hands-on work in a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements
- Availability for 2–4 events per month; Thursday through Monday availability is most frequently needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts lasting 8–12 hours.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 30–50 pounds.
- Ability to use hand tools such as utility knives.
Responsibilities
- Build connections with volunteers, answer their questions, and show appreciation for their contributions.
- Speak to large groups using a variety of styles, including educating, storytelling, persuading, and instructing.
- Perform warehousing tasks.
- Help ensure packing sessions run smoothly, including managing the flow of people and materials and tracking meal production.
- Lead a Christian prayer over packed meals and invite volunteers to join if they wish.
- Fill in where needed in a fast-paced, team environment.
