It is the function of the Procurement Agent to accomplish the procurement and delivery of specified products and/or services from qualified subcontractor or vendors at the most favorable prices and terms. This role is responsible for the procurement of materials and subcontracts, leading the review and recommendation of new and updating of subcontractor/vendor prequalification, establishing and overseeing the Procurement Schedule, and establishing project bidding procedures. The role also involves developing and implementing strategies for M/W/DBE requirements, assisting operations in creating project documents, examining plans and specifications, managing the bidding process, negotiating scope and terms, issuing recommendations for awards, preparing and issuing subcontracts, developing and monitoring Risk Management Plans, supervising assistant procurement agents, and resolving disputes related to scope of work and change orders.
