About The Position

Gentle Dental is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Traveling Periodontist to support its established practices throughout Southern California. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist who values clinical autonomy, a strong referral network, and the ability to provide periodontal care across multiple high-performing dental offices. The Periodontist will work as a 1099 independent contractor with a minimum commitment of 10 clinical days per month. The position will travel among designated Gentle Dental locations based on patient demand and practice needs.

Requirements

  • Periodontics Residency Certificate
  • Graduate of an accredited dental school
  • Active and unrestricted dental license required to practice in California
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current DEA registration, as applicable
  • Active NPI
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Southern California
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to quality patient care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with General Dentists, specialists, clinical teams, and practice leadership

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat periodontal disease and related conditions
  • Provide surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment
  • Evaluate patients and develop comprehensive specialty treatment plans
  • Perform periodontal procedures within the scope of specialty training and licensure
  • Partner closely with General Dentists and other specialists to coordinate patient care
  • Provide clear treatment recommendations and communicate effectively with patients
  • Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation
  • Educate patients regarding periodontal health, recommended treatment, and long-term maintenance
  • Support practices in delivering an exceptional patient experience
  • Maintain high standards of clinical quality, professionalism, and patient safety
  • Travel between designated Gentle Dental offices throughout Southern California
  • Maintain availability for a minimum of 10 clinical days per month
