About The Position

Join Great Expressions Dental Centers as a Traveling Periodontics Dental Assistant. This part-time role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, positively impacting patients' oral health. The position requires travel between multiple dental offices in Texas, with a specific schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Periodontics at Long Prairie and Wycliff, respectively, and Thursdays for Endodontics at Long Prairie. While strong experience in Periodontics is required, the company is willing to train the right candidate in Endodontics. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Periodontics is required
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
  • Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays)
  • Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
  • Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations
  • Michigan: Upon hiring, you are required to furnish evidence of X-ray training certification. If you do not possess certification at the time of hiring, you are granted an 8-week period to submit it
  • New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training
  • Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
  • Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred
  • Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
  • Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
  • Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
  • Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately
