About The Position

The Superintendent assists in the oversight and coordination of the activities of trade partners and crews associated with the project construction, focusing on field coordination. In cooperation with the Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent, this role ensures owner, architect, and consultant satisfaction. The position requires the skillset to manage a small project and team independently, in accordance with the Superintendent Matrix.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ commercial construction experience or acceptable combination of a bachelor's degree and experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and plan/spec reading.
  • Ability to problem solve, organize, and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Exposure/experience in working multiple discipline projects.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the schedule in conjunction with the Project/Senior/General Superintendent.
  • Complete Project Schedule weekly updates in required format (Yellow Brick Road).
  • Ensure trade partners have adequate resources to meet scheduled durations.
  • Assist in site logistics, hoisting, security, traffic, laydown, etc.
  • Coordinate all required testing, building and special inspections for assigned scope of work.
  • Assist where needed in coordinating site mobilization.
  • Implement the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
  • Take ownership of all aspects of project safety.
  • Take an active role in weekly site wide safety meetings.
  • Input safety observations weekly in the safety audit and ensures timely completion.
  • Review workmanship for conformance to the contract documents and Haydon standards.
  • Document and correct deficiencies with the use of Procore observations throughout the progression of the project with timely action.
  • Initiate needed field correspondence and Requests for Information.
  • Participate in the Coordination and Work Plan Meetings between trade partners to ensure proper installation of ALL trades scope.
  • Lead and implement the Site-Specific Quality Plan (SSQP) in conjunction with the project team.
  • Coordinate with the Project Superintendent and PM on change orders and T&M tickets.
  • Participate with project team to review and update job cost reports weekly.
  • Understand and manage labor budgets (i.e Haydon labor, equipment and general requirements).
  • Initiate communication with the Project/Senior Superintendent and/or General Superintendent as concerns or roadblocks occur that may impact cost and/or schedule.
  • Schedule and facilitate any special meetings, with the assistance of the Project Superintendent, as required during the project.
  • Ensure that the project site and construction activities are being documented daily in writing including photos using Procore.
  • Understand & comply with all authorities having jurisdiction associated with project construction.
  • Take an active role in Contractor Coordination meetings and ensure look ahead schedules are adhered to.
