About The Position

Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic (HDC) is seeking a Full Time Traveling Maintenance Technician. Requirements

  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver’s license.
  • Position requires four years technical or associate degree along with three years’ experience to five years’ experience in related fields (including Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, Electrical)
  • Required to follow on-call rotation as needed.
  • Successful completion of drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the physical condition of the Community is maintained according to the organization’s operating and safety standards. Verify all service requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Administer turn-key operation and ensure vacant units are inspected and prepared in a timely manner.
  • Assist in scheduling and overseeing Community upgrades completed by other maintenance employees and outside contractors.
  • Maintain a proper inventory of supplies and tools sufficient for providing service and maintaining the property. Purchase supplies as required, using a standard purchase order system and proper bidding procedures.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program that minimizes emergency repairs and service requests.
  • Promote and participate in company-sponsored training programs and ensure subordinate associates participate in all training classes within the required time frame.
  • Mentor one or more Maintenance Technicians at other properties within the applicable region.
  • Prepare sites for state inspections and report back to facilities on progress and be able to project manage assignments
