Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in structured cabling or industry related construction.
  • OSHA 10 within first 2 weeks in role.
  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Able to distinguish color codes.

Nice To Haves

  • BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification preferred. Must be earned once hired, (to qualify for Tech III)

Responsibilities

  • Enhance overall jobsite productivity, safety and quality.
  • Assist with multiple aspects of the structured cable installation process including pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Telecommunication Room build-out, cable terminations, labeling, and bonding in accordance to existing standards.
  • Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies.
  • Assist the project team with installation activities as needed.
  • Proactively maintain jobsite organization and basic housekeeping. Organize materials, tools, and equipment, collect debris, and ensure hazardous conditions are promptly addressed.
  • Read and interpret floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cutsheets.
  • Understand the different materials and methodologies involved with the installation of a structured cabling system.
  • Travel for up to 2 weeks at a time, could require frequent (50%+) overnight and extended out-of-town travel in certain regions.
