About The Position

Birdseye is seeking a skilled Traveling Lead Electrician to lead on-site commercial and industrial electrical installations, service mobile surveillance/solar units, and be a lead field hand across the United States. Based in Texas, this role combines hands-on electrical expertise with field leadership, low-voltage/CCTV integration, and project coordination. The successful candidate will ensure top-tier workmanship, compliance, and real-time project tracking while mentoring junior field staff.

Requirements

  • Active Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred (or equivalent transferable state license)
  • 3+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
  • Background in low-voltage systems, CCTV, controls, or solar power preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% across the U.S.
  • Proficiency with digital field management software, project tracking tools, and basic networking
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must complete background checks (includes references, educational verification, criminal check, credit check - where applicable)
  • Certain roles may also require testing

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage on-site electrical installations, system integrations, and services nationwide
  • Perform wiring, power connections, and service maintenance on low-voltage systems, CCTV, mobile surveillance trailers, and solar power units
  • Review project proposals, technical diagrams, and site plans to develop clear field execution strategies
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor network infrastructure and electrical components for mobile units
  • Serve in an "On Call" service rotation as needed
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians and junior field staff
  • Coordinate sub-contractors, electrical trades, and internal crews to keep projects on schedule and up to code
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical authority and primary client point of contact during deployments
  • Enforce high-quality workmanship, safety protocols, and company installation standards
  • Manage field inventory, forecast material needs, and coordinate return merchandise authorizations (RMAs)
  • Oversee warehouse organization, equipment staging, and shipping preparation
  • Conduct routine wellness checks and maintenance on company vehicles, mobile trailers, and solar hardware
