To maintain efficient Mohs lab(s) within Suncoast. Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulatory entities and guidelines governing the operation of histopathology labs within a physician practice environment. The Traveling Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for learning and developing practical skills for Skin Cancer Surgery, including receiving specimens, ensuring accurate identification, maintaining logs, inking, embedding, staining, and coverslipping sections for H&E diagnosis. This role also involves maintaining par levels for supplies, submitting reports, and operating the laboratory computer system. The assistant will prepare cassettes and slides, prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination using frozen section techniques, and operate computerized laboratory equipment for tissue preservation. They will also perform daily Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests, troubleshoot problems, maintain laboratory equipment, and manage inventory. Additionally, the role includes operating and maintaining the Mohs van, ensuring safe transportation of specimens and supplies, and adhering to traffic laws. The position requires professional conduct, effective time management, strong communication skills, and adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
