About The Position

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility. Our ideal Food Service Worker excels at being passionate about food and service, having an understanding of food handling regulations, a desire to always learn more, working as a team member, adapting to changes quickly, and being flexible.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• Cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain.
• Pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• Lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time from your home base account including overnight stays at hotels when needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
