About The Position

This position demands high mobility to provide on-site electrical support across multiple regions based on business needs. Drummac, Inc. is an integrated rail services company that specializes in providing mechanical services to the transportation industry. With operations located across the United States, the services we perform range in scope from routine mechanical maintenance, inspections, repairs and cleaning to providing equipment and supplies for the transportation industry with a niche in passenger rail. We provide these services using in-house resources, enabling exceptional quality control enjoyed by few companies in our industry. The Traveling Electronics Technician will be responsible for reading schematics, wiring and installing electrical components into rail cars. They will also be responsible for following the directive given by management and reporting via a daily progress report. They must adhere to and maintain strict compliance with corporate/office policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills).
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. or more regularly.
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Maintain prolong crouching, kneeling or bending positions as needed.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process.
  • Electrical experience necessary (documented).

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical components into rail cars.
  • Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.
  • Inspect electrical components such as circuit breakers and contactors.
  • Proficient in running wiring as needed for different aspects of passenger rail cars (110v, 480v and 74v).
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Notify supervisor of any faulty equipment.
  • Wear and use required protective equipment while working.
  • Responsibility for your own safety while on the job.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
