About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Traveling Project Engineer with 1-3 years of construction experience or relevant internships to support large-scale mechanical projects across the Midwest and East Coast. The role requires 75-100% travel for extended periods (weeks to months at a time), and candidates must be comfortable being on-site across multiple states. The company is a well-established family-owned mechanical contractor with a strong presence in industrial and automotive sectors, expanding into data centers, healthcare, commercial, and education. Requirements

  • Degree (or in progress) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Mechanical construction exposure (internship or field experience preferred)
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel for projects
  • Field internship or project engineering experience supporting Project Managers on either large-scale HVAC Mechanical installation projects or construction projects

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years construction experience
  • Internship experience with a General Contractor or Mechanical Contractor
  • Experience with Procore and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers on large-scale mechanical construction projects
  • Prepare and track submittals and RFIs
  • Maintain project documentation, logs, and reporting
  • Assist with scheduling, coordination, and project tracking
  • Help manage communication between field teams and office staff
  • Utilize Procore and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Support overall project compliance and documentation requirements
