About The Position

Midwest Concrete Constructors (MCC) is seeking Traveling Concrete Superintendents who are dedicated to superior quality and have experience managing concrete construction and its associated administrative activities. The role involves overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are finished on schedule, within budget, and meet all project specifications. MCC, a full-service concrete contractor and part of the ARCO Family of Companies, specializes in turnkey concrete solutions for projects ranging from small renovations to over 1 million square feet, serving clients across the country.

Requirements

  • 5-25+ years of experience as a working concrete superintendent on projects of at least 100k sq ft, with a preference for flatwork.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States.
  • Possession and maintenance of a current, valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including prolonged standing/walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Certifications: Rigging, OSHA 10-hour, aerial lifts, and variable reach.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate manpower is provided to meet construction schedules.
  • Analyze and assist the general superintendent in determining construction equipment needs, ensuring efficient utilization and release of equipment.
  • Determine job requirement quantities for each phase of work.
  • Direct and supervise carpenters, cement finishers, iron workers, and laborers.
  • Inform supervisors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
  • Review and assist the project manager in approving requisitions and other significant reports.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
  • Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, providing updates on construction progress.
  • Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company's safety program.
  • Become familiar with and adhere to all company policies, ensuring employees are aware of and conform to them.
  • Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees, while focusing on customer satisfaction.
  • Carry out any additional assigned responsibilities.
