About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support surgical services in a hospital environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, preparation, and distribution of surgical instruments while maintaining strict infection control and patient safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong communication skills required
• Must meet one of the following: Anatomy & Physiology course completion, passed Anatomy exam, SPD certification, or 3+ years of recent SPD experience
• Ability to obtain or maintain SPD certification

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of Sterile Processing experience
• SPD Certification (HSPA/IAHCSMM preferred)
• Prior hospital or surgical setting experience

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Disassemble, sort, and inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality
• Assemble surgical trays accurately using count sheets
• Package, wrap, and label instruments for sterilization
• Operate sterilization equipment (steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris, washers, ultrasonic cleaners)
• Maintain sterilization records, logs, and biological testing documentation
• Store and distribute sterile supplies to surgical teams efficiently
• Manage inventory and restocking of surgical instruments and supplies
• Follow infection control protocols and proper PPE usage at all times
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
• Support operating room staff by ensuring timely availability of sterile instruments
