About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Speech Therapist in Cumming, GA. The contract duration is 13 weeks, with a shift of Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend work is required, with a minimum of 2 weekends per 4 weeks, and preferred 4 weekends per 4 weeks. Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify. A stipend package is available to help maximize take-home pay.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of SLP experience
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify.
Nice To Haves
- Prior acute care experience
- Experience with MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) and/or FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing)
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Manage dysphagia and communication impairments
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide therapy across various units including ICU and neuro/stroke populations
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
