About The Position

This full-time position travels to multiple Arrow communities within a designated territory to ensure Sous Chef shifts are adequately covered. The role involves ensuring food items are prepared to culinary standards, providing residents with an exceptional dining experience while minimizing waste, supervising and inspecting all aspects of culinary service, and leading the team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching, and accountability. The starting wage for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Must be able to travel to multiple Arrow communities within assigned territory.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
Completed formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or an equivalent amount of full-time supervisory or management-level work experience.
Have a current Adult First Aid card upon hire and maintains current status throughout employment.
Comfortable creating, modifying, and printing word processing and spreadsheet documents using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Able to send, receive, and forward email.
Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable to be in close contact to extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Will have the ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
Must be criminally cleared.

Nice To Haves

At least three (3) years of experience in senior housing or related field.

Responsibilities

Ensure food items are prepared to Culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.
Supervise and inspect all aspects of Culinary service, including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service regularly to ensure they are up-to-date, clean, and sanitary.
Lead team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching and accountability.
Willing and able to travel to and assist communities within designated territory with minimum notice to ensure Sous Chef shifts are adequately covered.
