An RRT offers highly specialized patient care services to a variety of critical care units and offers consult services to general surgical and medical floor units. The role involves coordinating with physicians, nurses, allied staff, patients, and family in scheduling and providing treatments. Responsibilities include documenting patient interactions and billing for services rendered, administering medications according to written orders and reporting adverse reactions, and responding to all codes, rapid response teams, emergencies, and patient transports as required. The RRT will also perform all blood gas tasks, including drawing, analyzing, equipment maintenance, and QA/QC, and manage mechanical ventilation within specified guidelines, protocols, and physician orders. Ensuring all equipment operates properly and is maintained according to manufacturer's specifications is also a key part of the role. This position utilizes the EPIC EMR system.
