About The Position

This is a travel contract position in the Emergency Department. The role requires an individual to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations made for qualified individuals with disabilities. The incumbent works in a patient care area, directly with patients, and has an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous medications, or hazardous waste.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • 2+ years experience in ER
  • Minimum 2 year experience in ER
  • Preferably 2+ years experience in ER

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Certification in clinical specialty area.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
  • Assesses learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and other groups or disciplines.
  • Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
  • Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • Maintains and complies with the Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
