About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking Stepdown RNs for multiple travel/contract positions in Lawton, OK. We are accepting both local and traveler candidates. This is a full-time, travel, contract, temporary position for 13 weeks. The role involves providing all aspects of professional and comprehensive nursing care in assigned Stepdown units. Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications, including antiarrhythmic IV medications. The nurse will care for patients with STEMI/NSTEMI, CP rule out, CHF, Noninvasive Ventilation, Cardiothoracic surgery after ICU, and those with peripheral vascular compromise. Duties also include changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs, adjusting specialized medical equipment, and interpreting/recording measurements. Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

Registered Nurse: 1 year - Required
Stepdown RN experience: Recent/Current, 6+ months – Required
Float to Med/Surg or ER to take CVCU/Med Surg holds - Required
ASN or an equivalent – Required
RN License for State of OK or Compact - Required
AHA BLS Certifications - Required
NIHSS - Required (Can be obtained upon offer)

Nice To Haves

Travel experience - Highly preferred
BSN or an equivalent – Highly preferred

Responsibilities

Provides all aspects of professional and comprehensive nursing care in assigned units (Stepdown).
Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications including administering antiarrhythmic IV medications
Comfortable providing care for patients with STEMI/NSTEMI, CP rule out, CHF, Noninvasive Ventilation, Cardiothoracic surgery after ICU, and those with peripheral vascular compromise.
Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
