About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a RN Traveler for their Stepdown IMCU & Med-Surg floor. This is a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment on the day shift. The Burn Trauma unit is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate Care and Medical/Surgical unit. It includes 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate care patients (neurosurgery, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma) received from Burn Trauma ICU and Neurosurgical ICU, and 17 beds for Medical/Surgical care (neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, bariatric weight loss). Nurses are trained to work both intermediate and medical-surgical sides. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4 for Intermediate Care beds and 5-6 for Medical/Surgical beds. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively to maintain and support nursing care standards and meet patient, family, and community healthcare needs.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale
Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience
