About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary traveler position on the 6K Medicine Unit. This is a full-time, 14-week assignment. The unit is a new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with modern technology, including new computers in every room and real-time documentation capabilities. The patient population is diverse, including cardiac, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and various wound care cases.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in Nursing, or a diploma in the Nursing Field.
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale certification.
2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse on the 6K Medicine Unit.
Care for patients with cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and diverse wound care needs.
Utilize new computers and charting stations for patient documentation.
Operate blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC for real-time documentation.
