About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General 6K Medicine Unit is hiring for a Registered Nurse for a Temporary Traveler Position! This is a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment for a Registered Nurse on the 6K Medicine Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. The unit is a beautiful, brand new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with new computers in every room and charting stations in hallways. It features blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC for real-time documentation. The patient population is diverse, including cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and various wound care cases.

Requirements

Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale certification
2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN Med/Surg experience

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients on the 6K Medicine Unit.
Manage patient population including cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and diverse wound care.
Utilize new computers and charting stations for documentation.
Operate blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC for real-time documentation.
