About The Position
This is an 18-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery in Templeton, California. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients and their families. The nurse will manage emergencies, circulate for C-sections, monitor patient status, administer medications, and coordinate with the care team. Responsibilities also include supervising ancillary personnel and communicating care plans to patients and families. The position is based in a hospital setting on a Labor and Delivery unit.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a Labor and Delivery unit
- Willingness to work in a hospital obstetric setting for an extended assignment
- Ability to participate in emergency situations and C-section circulation as needed
- Ability to complete credentialing and onboarding processes for the assignment
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients and their families
- Manage emergencies and circulate for C-sections as part of the obstetric team
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and coordinate with the care team
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice
- Communicate with patients and families to explain care plans and prepare them for procedures and discharge
