Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac procedural/Surgical Intermediate Care
About The Position
Sentara Heart Hospital is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Procedural & Surgical Intermediate Care Unit. This 24-bed unit provides care to pre and post cardiac surgery patients, including bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, thoracic surgery/lung diagnostics, and other cardiac procedures. The unit also cares for patients with cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and chest pain. The staff is dedicated to high-quality care, patient outcomes, safety, and teamwork. Nurses typically manage 3-4 patients, with a possibility of up to 5 depending on staffing and acuity. The unit is committed to providing opportunities for training, development, and growth.
Requirements
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- ACLS.
- NIH Stroke Scale.
- 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to pre and post cardiac surgery patients.
- Care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures such as ablations, left atrial appendages, ICDs, and permanent pacemakers.
- Manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and chest pain.
- Handle 3-4 patients per shift, potentially up to 5 depending on acuity and staffing.
