About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Procedural & Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (4HH East) in Norfolk, VA. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the night shift. The 24-bed unit provides care to pre and post cardiac surgery patients, including bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, thoracic surgery/lung diagnostics, and other cardiac procedures like ablations, left atrial appendages, ICDs, and permanent pacemakers. The unit also cares for patients with cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and chest pain. The staff is dedicated to high-quality care, patient outcomes, safety, and teamwork. Nurses typically manage 3-4 patients based on acuity, potentially up to 5 depending on staffing. The unit is committed to providing opportunities for training, development, and growth.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale
• 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide care to pre and post cardiac surgery patients.
• Care for patients undergoing procedures such as bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, thoracic surgery/lung diagnostics, ablations, left atrial appendages, ICDs, and permanent pacemakers.
• Manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and chest pain.
• Ensure high quality care, patient outcomes, and safety.
• Collaborate with the team to provide excellent patient care.
